Strategic Partnership: Arlo’s Cloud Journey with Centroid
Arlo faced the challenge of replacing their end-of-life data center hardware that stored Corporate Applications. To ensure the efficient maintenance of daily operations and accommodate future growth, the customer aimed to migrate their EBS environment to the cloud. Despite being content as a large AWS shop, they discovered that the options for cloud migration in their current state were cost-prohibitive and that EBS performed better and was more cost-effective in OCI (Oracle on Oracle).
As next steps, the client sought a partner to facilitate the Oracle relationship and offer additional solutions to address Arlo’s critical risks. Centroid emerged as an ideal partner, offering significant cost savings, deeper discounts, and flexible contracts through their exclusive Agg Buy model. Centroid effectively addressed any concerns, outlining the benefits of Oracle technology, emphasizing the rationale behind “oracle on oracle,” and providing a roadmap for migrating Oracle EBS, Agile, OBIEE, and Citrix VDI workloads to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
To manage risks effectively, both teams collaborated closely to define the end-state architecture and BOM for hosting these applications in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
Expertise to Drive Migration Success
Once the roadmap was finalized and approved, Centroid performed the complete migration of Oracle EBS to OCI. Throughout the project, our team of experts provided a range of services and solutions, including:
- Consulting services.
- Migration and upgrade of the database to version 19c on OCI, consolidating operations for five countries into a single European instance.
- Design and deployment support for OCI.
- OCI support throughout the project, including full project management and migration into Centroid’s OCI Agg Buy model.
- Post go-live support.
